Our team at WatchTime Düsseldorf
Last weekend, we spent a day in Düsseldorf for one of Europe’s most renowned watch events WatchTime Düsseldorf. For us at MAAS it was an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the world of fine watchmaking, connect with true enthusiasts, and see where our own creations stand among other independent brands shaping the future of microbrands.

Exploring the microbrand movement
Our main goal was to explore the growing world of microbrands to see how other independent watchmakers are responding to current trends, design shifts, and consumer expectations. What’s remarkable about this segment is how diverse it has become. From minimalist pieces to rugged tool watches and avant-garde designs, every stand at WatchTime told a different story.
As a young brand ourselves, we believe in the power of independence of crafting something honest, built on vision and craftsmanship rather than mass appeal. Seeing so many like-minded creators confirmed that there’s a strong movement of watchmakers who share that same philosophy: authentic design, genuine materials, and a respect for tradition.Beyond inspiration, we also came with a practical goal: to compare the quality and finishing of other microbrands with our own collection. Observing the work of our peers was motivating it reaffirmed that we’re on the right path.

Connecting with true enthusiasts
But perhaps the most rewarding part of WatchTime Düsseldorf was meeting real watch lovers the kind of people who appreciate not only how a watch looks, but how it feels, ticks, and tells its story. Sharing our designs and hearing genuine feedback from collectors and aficionados was incredibly valuable. There’s something special about seeing someone’s eyes light up when they hold one of our pieces. It’s a reminder that, at its core, a watch is more than an accessory it’s a bridge between design, emotion, and time itself. Those conversations made the day worth every minute.
A word from our founder
On our way back from Düsseldorf, we talked a lot as a team about what this experience meant for us. Events like WatchTime can be humbling you see how much talent and creativity exists out there but at the same time, they’re incredibly empowering.
We realized that staying true to our vision is what defines us most. We don’t want to chase trends. We want to build watches that feel pure, balanced, and intentional. What also became clear is that the microbrand community isn’t a competition it’s a conversation. Everyone brings something unique to the table, and collectively, we’re pushing the boundaries of what independent watchmaking can be. That shared spirit of craftsmanship and curiosity is what makes this space so exciting to be part of.
